For how will there ever be an answer, if we do not continue to search for one?

Lovely! I love the repeated phrase "we continue(d)" -- it gives a real sense of the courage and persistence needed for mathematical work. That sinking feeling as "the closer we got, the further away we became", and as others say nay to your work -- that's both chilling and encouraging at once. A lovely poem!
